HISTORY: South Sudan is the youngest nation on earth, just gaining their independence in 2011.  Their hope for the future was quickly deflated as tribal infighting left 400,000 people dead and more than 2 million as refugees in neighboring countries.  Marysville Foursquare has walked in supportive relationship with Foursquare in South Sudan and Uganda throughout this ordeal.

PURPOSE: Pastor Aaron has the privilege of serving as a Foursquare Emissary to South Sudan. His main goal is church planting and leadership development, helping the local churches themselves take the lead in humanitarian assistance, economic development, education, and evangelizing the nation.  In the past 18 months, Foursquare in South Sudan has grown from two to eight churches, trained many young leaders, assisted in bringing disaster relief into refugee settlements, established a movement of muslims coming to faith in Christ in a refugee camp, and launched a Child Healing Center in Juba, the capitol city.

RESOURCE GOALS: We currently send $1500/month for church ministry development, transportation, church planting, small pastor appreciations, and bringing food to refugees in Gorom Refugee Camp ($500/ month).  In addition, we have special projects we are raising support for (we celebrate that $23,000 has been given in 2024 towards these special projects, including a motorcycle, 4 x 4 vehicle, sound system, church plant, and $6000 of food relief for refugees!! Thank you, Jesus!)
